Presently common citizen, oppressed
classes and downtrodden of Pakistan are griped by uncertainty. They
have arrived at the conclusion and are possessed by the thought
that ruling classes of Pakistan are not capable of providing basic
needs, basic human rights and security of life. The constitution
of Pakistan which is a social contract between the state and the
people has, practically, become meaningless.
Common citizen paints the picture
of helplessness and living with sorrows and acute mental torture,
finding no relief. Whether it’s a movement for freedom of judiciary,
fundamental rights or religious freedom it is a form of agitation
which is being expressed by the millions on the roads. Various scenarios
of unrest are sending clear messages that failure of the present
system is written on the wall.
It is true that rulers of Pakistan
had been unable to unite multi cultural, multi linguistic and multi
national dimensions of Pakistani society into a single monolithic
“Nation state”. In the comity of world nation there is no identity
of Pakistan as a sovereign state. The ruling classes in league with
civil and military bureaucracy are depriving people from this identity.
What to talk of rule of law and
order, security of life and self respect, people of Pakistan are
deprived of bread, clothe, shelter and basic amenities of education
and health. Many promises in these directions have proven to be
a mirage. This situation is deteriorating day by day.
In addition to this people are mentally
and physically griped by militants who want to see them living in
the dark ages while on the other hand the profiteer of free market
economy want to snatch the last morsel from their mouth. Every person
living in Pakistan is faced with this tragic question that what
is going to happen to the state in which he is living. He is haunted
by amazing dilemma. Every responsible person with the political
mindset believes that the state of Pakistan is passing through dire
situation where not only individually but collectively they are
losing their identity.
